2012 “Plutocracy”
2012 – December: As we waited for something special to happen at the end of the Mayan Calendar I took a random survey asking how did 2012 feel? Everyone I questioned told me “2012 was a Great Year”. This made me excited to put together the last panel in this American History 21st Century collection. My enthusiasm declined as I opened the boxes of images and data I collected and started my research, which made me name 2012 “Wag the Dog”. If you haven’t seen the movie, I recommend it.
2012 was an illusion. It felt good. Money was loosening up. You saw construction happening. Images presented to us were family oriented, but 2012 has under-layers of information which, when put together, makes me shake inside.
2012 will expand into individual posts once a day for the next week.
2012 “New Laws”
Did the Occupy movement scare the government?
12/31/2011 – National Defense Authorization Act
Title X, Subtitle D, entitled “Counter-Terrorism_ sub-sections 1021 and 1022
“Indefinite detention without trial” An unconstitutional measurement, reversing civil rights gained back in the Habeas Corpus era.
05/2012 – H.R. 347 “Another anti-Occupy law” Punishable up to ten years in jail to protest anywhere the Secret Service “is or will be temporarily visiting”. The Secret Service is now a division of Homeland Security and by the nature of their work they often do not announce where they will be, effectively making it unsafe to protest anywhere.
2012 “Danny the Syrian”
2012 – February 2012 – Danny the Syrian is speaking to CNN telling the world that he’s in a town that is being attacked by the Syrian government. This news is being broadcast internationally. Something didn’t feel right. Who was this guy speaking English with a British accent, talking to Anderson Cooper and being called Danny The Syrian? His message fueled a lot of alarm and escalated war. He was discredited later for enhancing his interviews with gunfire theatrics and background explosions. Who was listening when the Syrian government was saying, “We aren’t doing this”?
The Assad government was denying these attacks on their people. VIA mainstream media there was a lot of pressure put on the government. They sent military forces to investigate these reports. They were shot at, they shot back and the civil war became real.
CNN promoted Danny the Syrian until he became the mainstream media’s poster child for a military invasion of Syria. The story was compelling, with gunfire, explosions and graphic images of bombed buildings, dead people and injured children. It was later proven that Danny the Syrian falsified his information and was caught on camera coordinating gunfire and explosions to be staged during his interview with CNN.
2012 “ Global Warming ”
Impacts of Global Warming
2012 – Our scientists have been trying to tell our government that Climate Change is Real. During 2012 there were 11 Natural Disasters in the US costing over $1 Billion each, they included droughts, wildfires, hurricanes and floods.
2012 – Was the Hottest Year on Record – Scientists at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said the average temperature in 2012 was 55.3 degrees, 3.2 degrees above the average recorded during the 20th century and 1.0 degree above 1998, until now the hottest on record.
2012 – Arctic sea ice hit a record low this year while reports from the private sector are trying to debunk the overwhelming scientific data. Laws are being passed that release private industries from responsibility for harmful wrong doing to the environment.
2012 “ Lobbyist ”
2012 – There are twelve thousand lobbyists in Washington D.C. Corporations (many of them foreign), Foundations and Think Tanks spend Millions of Dollars lobbying to advance their interests.
This pressure from self-interests challenges our financial, our health and our well being for present and future generations. Our system is failing us and it needs an audit and overhaul.
2012 “ Who is Watching You ”
It feels like we are pawns in a global chess game. It’s not about what’s right verses what’s wrong, it’s about profit and control.
2012 “ You are Under Surveillance ”

Personal: Between 2008 and 2011 six friends came to live with us because they had no place to go. We tried to refinance our home. The refinance application was insanely demanding, it took 2 months, 150 emails and we got declined. Many of the stores we sell to went bankrupt and others asked for extra financing. To keep our company’s cash flow we withdrew from our pension fund to loan it to our business.
2011 – CPI Consumer Price Index: The value of $1 U.S.D. is $0.69 compared to 2000. This means that our currency lost 31% of its purchase power in 11 years.
2011- Japan hit by powerful earthquake and tsunami causing the worst nuclear disaster yet. Radiation makes its way towards the U.S. affecting sea life and our food supply.
2011 “ Debt = Slavery”
2011 – Protestors take to the streets to Occupy Wall Street. Claiming that large corporations and the global financial system are benefiting a few and undermining democracy. Within its first month protests had expanded to 700 cities in over 80 countries making the “Occupy” movement the largest international protest in history. We were able to see its early stages in mainstream news and then had to switch to alternative Internet media to learn of the repressive measures taken by authorities to neutralize it.
2011- Disillusioned with big banks, 650,000 US customers moved $4.5 Billion to smaller local banks.
2011 “People VS Corporations ”
2011 – PUBLIC NOTICE: Due to lost jobs, bank fees, tuition hikes, oil spills, insider trading, budget cuts, military hikes, secret funding, indefinite detention, warranty-less spying, and bi-partisan stalling, Americans no longer know who to trust.
2011 “War Spending”
2011 – The out of grace mercenary group Blackwater, also known as XE, changes its name again to: ACADEMI – Elite Trained Protection “10 years experience deploying over 75,000 personnel around the globe”.
Changing names worked and ACADEMI receives a new $250 Million contract to provide military services in Afghanistan. John Aschroft, former U.S. Attorney General under Bush, becomes Academi’s New Ethics Director.
2011 – Xbox 360 releases a new video game called “Blackwater”. Erik Prince, founder of Blackwater, compares the game to children playing cops and robbers or cowboys and Indians, so young minds get the impression that being an action killer is cool. You can watch this game trailer at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_V0bftQAqc
2011- More U.S. soldiers are dying from suicide than in combat during the Afghanistan and Iraq War.
2011 “WTC Building 7”
2011- Only 5% of Americans know that 3 buildings fell at the World Trade Center on 9/11. Even less know that Thermite (an explosive used to demolish steel buildings) was found in the WTC debris. Calls for a new independent investigation continue to be ignored.
5 Facts about Building 7
1) If fire caused Building 7 to collapse, it would be the first ever fire-induced collapse of a steel-frame high-rise.
2) Building 7’s collapse was not mentioned in the 9/11 Commission Report.
3) It took the federal government seven years to conduct an investigation and issue a report for Building 7.
4) Over 1,700 American architects and engineers have signed a petition calling for a new investigation into the destruction of Building 7, specifying that it should include a full inquiry into the possible use of explosives.
5) Building 7 housed several intelligence and law enforcement agencies including:
_ Department of Defense (DOD)
_ Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)
_ United States Secret Service (SS)
_ Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
_ Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
_ Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS)
_ New York City Office of Emergency Service (“Giuliani’s Bunker”)

2010 “Main St U.S.A. ”
Summer 2010 – My husband and I traveled through the Midwest and noticed that Main Street in the towns we visited was Foreclosed, For Sale or For Rent. Thrift and Dollar Stores were open for business along with Wallmart and Check Cashing outlets. On the highway we saw generic shopping centers offering imported items. We had similar experiences traveling to major US cities where slightly more upscale brand name stores were common, but they were the same in every major city and filed with items that were not made in America. We both remember when cities had unique shopping districts reflecting local creativity.
2010 – 1,593,081 people and business file Bankruptcy in the U.S.A.
2010 – Unemployment reaches 14,825,000.
2010 – 52 million American adults (28% of working-age adults) found themselves uninsured at some point during 2010.

4 symptoms GMO poisoning: eczema, inflammation, allergies, cancer.
2010 “Public Debt ”
Shock and Awe images in the news media and advertising, of war, fear, consumerism and patriotism have played with our emotions.
2010 – Bush told us originally that his Tax Cuts were going to help the economy but in their first 10 years, those cuts meant the largest transfer of wealth to already rich Americans. America paid more than $400 Billion U.S.D. in new interest while $2.6 Trillion U.S.D. was added to our public debt.
2010 – Hall of Corporate Shame: Twenty nine Major Corporations Paid No Federal Taxes between 2008-2010. These companies did manage to pay $400,000. per day to lobby lawmakers and influence political elections. Companies included General Electric, Wells Fargo, Boeing. Verizon Communications, Mattel, Pepco Holdings. Baxter International, Intel Corporation.
2010 According to data from the US Department of Defense (DoD), there are around 112,000 contractors employed by the US military currently working in Afghanistan and 95,000 contractors employed by the US working in Iraq. 28,343 are private security contractors (PSCs) protecting personnel, convoys and bases.
No Draft meant: US taxpayers will pay for hiring mercenaries.
2010 – Operation Iraqi Freedom ends. New name for Iraq war is: “Operation New Dawn”.
2010 – The Federal Reserve released a study that said “The average American family’s net worth dropped almost 40% between 2007 and 2010, wiping out 18 years of savings.”
2010 – According to a government report, interest costs on the National Debt plus escalating Social Security and Medicare spending, will absorb 92% of the federal revenue by the year 2019.

09/19/2008 – FRIDAY: US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson Former CEO of Goldman Sachs debuts a 2-½-page plan unveiling our economic catastrophe. The plan is to bail out Wall Street by giving them $700 Billion U.S.D. Congress is given a one-week deadline to agree to this debt to the American people.
09/24/2008 – WEDNESDAY: Bush WARNS the Nation; failure to act quickly could result in a long and painful recession!
09/29/2008 – MONDAY: “Bailout” plan rejected. The DOW looses 777 points, the biggest one-day point decline ever. Approximately $1.2 Trillion U.S.D. market value evaporates. The wealth of American families plunged nearly 18% in 2008.
The 2008 stock market crash was the WORST decline since 1931.
10/03/2008 – FRIDAY: Wall Street Bailout Approved: Signed G.W. Bush.
The “Wall Street Bail Out” shocked, awed and squeezed the American people again, financially and emotionally. The money the banks received was NOT provided to the banks customers. For the next few years it was a charade to try and get a loan.
Question: If we had given the bailout the week before would the stock market have evaporated $1.2 Trillion U.S.D. market value assets?
2008 – Obama wins Presidential election. His slogan “Yes We Can”! inspires people for change. Good Luck! This is what you inherited!
2008 – War spending in Iraq and Afghanistan peak in 2008. Obama inherits the war debt and new military/Homeland Security service and equipment contracts that Bush committed to the War on Terrorism.
2008 – Gas Prices $1.61 – $4.11 Exxon Mobil breaks its own record with $45.2 Billion U.S.D. in PROFIT.
2008 – 1,117,771 bankruptcies are filed. Unemployment peaks at 8,924,000 but will jump to 14,265,000 in 2009.
2008 – One U.S.D. is worth .75 cents compared to $1.U.S. $ in 2000.
2008 – 9.2% of all U.S. mortgages outstanding were either delinquent or in foreclosure
2008 – Lenders began foreclosures on nearly 2.3 million properties. An 81% increase over 2007.
2008 – The U.S. Imprisons more people than any other country.
2008 – The economy just crashed and burned.
NOTE: Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke enlightened us that between 1996 and 2004, the USA current ACCOUNT deficit increased from 1.5% to 5.8% of GDP (Gross Domestic Product). Financing these deficits required the USA to borrow large sums from abroad, much of it from countries running trade surpluses, mainly the emerging economies in Asia and oil-exporting nations.
QUESTION: Is the GDP debt because products we use are now made overseas and we have to import them?
QUESTION: Whose debt is the GDP, Government or Corporations?
QUESTION: Who is making the decisions on what the USA is producing and exporting, Government or Corporations?
QUESTION: Are we in-debt to oil-exporting nations because the Military Industrial Complex, Oil Industry and Banking conglomerations want control? Is this debt part of the War on Terrorism?
