The Year 2001 – 9/11

  • Throughout the next 8 years images of American Patriotism are visually present.
  • June 7, 2001 Tax legislation: “The Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001” A.K.A. “The Bush Tax Cuts”.  NOTE: By 2010 The Bush Tax Cuts added $2.6 TRILLION U.S.D. to the public debt. The country had spent more than $400 Billion servicing the debt created by the Bush Tax Cuts.
  • September 10, 2001: Donald Rumsfeld admits that $2.3 TRILLION U.S.D. is missing from the Pentagon.

The Year 2002 – Blueprint For The American Dream

  • Enron, a Multi National American based Corporation is exposed for willful Corporate Fraud. Enron traders acknowledged they purposely manipulated the supply of electricity causing “Rolling Blackouts”, to raise energy prices. Thousands of Enron employees loose their jobs and pensions.
  • Bush launched a program called “Blue Print for the American Dream”. The goal was to get 5.5 million people in NEW homes. The Year 2003 – 21 Days to Baghdad

  • SARS (Sever Acute Respiratory Syndrome) infect individuals in 37 countries.
  • March 21, 2003 The world watched as U.S. Forces and their allies attack Baghdad.
  • May 11, 2003 Paul Bremer an American Diplomat replaces Lieutenant General Jay Garner as Director of the Office for Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance in Baghdad.

The Year 2004 – NO Draft

  • U.S. Homeownership hits an all time high of 69.2 percent.
  • Political campaigns are in motion as the 2004 Presidential Election is preparing for November. Bushes campaign promises us that there will be no draft. These words make us feel like the war in Iraq and Afghanistan are under control and hope that our soldiers will be coming home soon.
  • Military spending is increasing as we outsource our soldiers to private multi national mercenary corporations and instill the Backdoor Draft to involuntarily extend service contracts of U.S. Military Personnel.

The Year 2005 – Katrina

  • August 201: Hurricane Katrina hits the Gulf Coast causing severe destruction from Florida to Texas. 80% of New Orleans was under water. More than one million Gulf Coast residents were displaced.
  • The housing market boom starts it’s decent as foreclosures increase.
  • December 16, 2005: HR 4437 A.K.A. Border Protection, Anti-terrorism and Illegal Immigration Control Act is passed by the Unites States House of Representatives. PENALTY: It is a crime to help an illegal immigrant to enter or remain in the U.S.

The Year 2006 – Where Do We Go From Here

  • Interest rates were going up, home loans started declining. Over 90% of subprime mortgages were adjustable-rate mortgages.
  • Scandals of military prisoner abuse surface. War spending in Iraq and Afghanistan steadily increases as the American economy starts its downward flow.
  • Products bought in America are overwhelmingly made in China and India.

  • American credit card debt surges. Prime interest rate is 8.25%.
  • Between August 2007 and October 2008, 936,439 USA residences completed foreclosure.
  • Over 1 MILLION illegal immigrants leave and or deported nation wide.

  • One U.S.D. is worth .75 cents compared to 2000.
  • The U.S. Imprisons more people than any other country.
  • Stock Market/Bank Crisis: WORST decline since 1931.

The Year 2009 – Downsizing

  • Wall Street Executives Receives $18 Billion U.S.D. in Bonuses.
  • Paul-Grayson Amendment to AUDIT the Federal Reserve is approved by the House Financial Services Committee but obstructed by the New Federal Reserves chairman Ben Bernanke because it “would shatter the Fed’s independence.”
  • Unemployment Increases from 8,924,000 to 14,265,000, while bankruptcy and foreclosures escalate.

The Year 2010 – The Cloning of America

  • Main Street U.S.A. is For Sale, For Lease and Foreclosed.
  • Schools are closing, Job are being cut. Local government is compromised as civil service struggles to balance their working budgets.
  • Unemployment reaches it’s highest in the decade at 14,825,000.

The Year 2011 – Occupy

  • Protestors take to the streets to Occupy Wall Street and hundreds of other cities, becoming an international movement claiming that large corporations and the global financial system are to benefit a few and undermine democracy.
  • CPI Consumer Price Index: The value of $1 in 2000 is $0.69 in 2011.
  • About 9 million adults lost their health insurance in the last two years.

The Year 2012 – Wag the Dog

At the end of 2012 I took a random survey as we waited for a prophesy, cataclysmic event or super spiritual awakening. Everyone I asked told me “2012 was a Great Year”. This made me excited to put together the last panel in the American History Collection. Excited until I opened the boxes of images and data I collected and started scanning and researching the information.
